The ball bearings of the more than 100 years old cannons at Calheta Vitor all still working - a man can still easily turn the iron tons of the cannon around. On the sea there is not a lot of wind to be seen, just the canyon of Vitor is sucking in air. We walk up the slope above the cannons until we meet friendlier terrain and try to start. Alex gets away and is able to fly a triangle towards Arica and back. I am able to start but on the right end of the glider two braking lines and one stabilo line gets hurt and I end rather fast on the beach. We decide to drive further north by car.
